The new Salt Lake City Public Library aims to reflect itself through its architecture, with facades directly related to their environment and a large central space in the form of a covered atrium with natural lighting and plenty of balconies.
The vertical and horizontal axis that organize the building are reflected in the central atrium where the vertical circulation stairs break in the form of balconies looking towards the large central space and the public through out the floors.
The horizontal movement is along the central atrium in the form of a gallery, the two main horizontal and vertical circulations are the two axes which order to build.
This building is certainly a good example of the use of architecture with an excellent relationship with its environment and management of a clear relationship between the movement, its exterior, the axes, the function and form.
